January 24th Self Reflection

For my grade these last few weeks since the beginning of the school year I would give my self the I gave it my all grade because all of the time during class I have been working on CodeCademy and CodingBat.I gave my self I gave it my all because I worked during class all of the time and finished a lot of work on CodeCademy while focusing in class and not talking too much in class.I learned a lot about CodeCademy and python and many many things I didnt know before about Python.

pyg = ‘ay’

original = raw_input(‘Enter a word:’)
word = original.lower()
first = word[0]
new_word = original[1:len(new_word)] + first + pyg
if len(original) > 0 and original.isalpha():
print original
else:
print ’empty’

Here is just a small amount of the work I have been doing on CodeCademy.

My previous goal was to work harder on python and work on my weaknesses in Python, I believe I have accomplished this goal as I have done a lot of work on CodeCademy and learned many things as well as doing better in things I struggled in.

My new goal is to work on the GOYO quests and work more on CodeCademy

  1. Mahmoud, it sounds like you’re making progress. I would like you to start setting very specific, measurable goals, so you can easily look back and determine whether you’ve met your goal or not.

    For example, when you say “to work on…”, well undoubtedly you’ll be able to say next week that you definitely accomplished this goal. But you’d also be able to say this if you worked only 5 minutes each class and I don’t think that’s what you really mean. To make it more specific and measurable, you could pick a percentage of CodeCademy you want to have completed, or a specific lesson you’d like to reach, and so on. Or you could pick a specific technique/construct you want to have mastered by next report.
